Starting today as an officially retired person! Had my last day yesterday, party last night and saying goodbyes (that was hard…) but now I’m free. I thank all the fine folks here who’ve answered my questions and provided valuable guidance the last few years. This place is a treasure trove of knowledge on the subject we all hold near and dear. Now I go to tend the woodstove and get more coffee!

It took me about 6 months to adjust physically after decades of go go go. It took about a year to fully adjust. Maybe that was just me, but I think it is important to be gentle with oneself.

That is great!!! I wish you well in your new job of retirement.

Super excited for you!!!!

Congratulations!
I remember the first few days I was still zipping around in the mornings to get things done like I did when I had to get out the door to be at work. Then it hit me that I didn't have to zip around at all and now I complain if I have to be out of the house before 10 am!

I hope you have a long and happy retirement.

Congratulations! Enjoy that coffee - and I will toast you with a big Bubba cup of black coffee over here.

Congratulations!

Hopefully all the w*rk stress will fall to the wayside rather quickly. You are starting one of the greatest seasons of your life.

Congratulations! That first morning coffee is the best, sip it slow and relax!
Look forward to hearing more from you in the future. Enjoy!

Thank you! Just got back from first retired man duty- bring wife to doctor appt and wait in car for her! But able to go to the woodworking shop down the road too and peruse table saws and such…love it !

Congrats! Great start to your first day of retirement!

Congratulations. You'll soon hit your stride and wonder why you didn't leave earlier. Enjoy!

Well done. Welcome to the great part of life.
