The Photographers' Corner - 2021 to ?

Yeah, we paid at least that. It’s definitely a location thing, although our room was nice. The overall property was very nice and the restaurant was superb. Much nicer than the Old Faithful Inn or even the Many Glacier Hotel (but that’s in the best location ever!). But it’s downright cheap compared to places like the Jenny Lake Lodge (Tetons) and Moraine Lake Lodge (Banff). Those run over $1k/night! But we justify staying in those places because we avoided the purchase of an RV. We’re still way ahead by that score!

Rationalization - the easiest path to a clear conscience. :)

I think it’s the exclusive concessions granted to these lodgings at national parks. It prevents overdevelopment but limits the supply of accommodations leading to high prices. I wonder if the Park Service gets a percentage of revenues.

The properties I’m referring to are owned and operated by the National Park Service, at least the ones in the U.S. are, like the El Tovar, Many Glacier and Jenny Lake Lodge. I’m not sure about the Moraine Lake Lodge in Canada.

This is a female red-bellied woodpecker. On the males, the red cap goes all the way from the neck to the beak. Your first shot was the male so you ca see the difference.
Ah! That's right. They are different. Good to know. Thanks!

Are these photos you are posting actual ones you are taking or have taken?
have over the years. some are newer, some older. mostly events, travel, activities, etc. all taken by me mostly on my Canon. is this ok for for this thread? just thought i would share.

Sure, I was just wondering as you didn't have very much history mentioned with the photo.

Either a 1930 or 31 Ford Model A couple. Lovely car and was a big hit when new! (I'm an old car buff !)
i got lots of old car pics and not a lot of knowledge about them so i'm gonna lean on you to keep identifying them if you don't mind. i am learning as we go!

Model collection bought off eBay a few years ago. Wish I could have painted them like this back in the day. Reliving childhood... LOL
