The Whole Shooting Match (Life) per Scott Galloway

As an aside, my dad, speaking from experience said "the worst thing in life is having to make a living from something that used to be your hobby"
I would think that could go either way? I’ve certainly known people who love what they do, and it’s more like a hobby than a traditional job. But I also know others who grew to hate a perfectly good hobby when they tried to make a living at it. e.g. DW loves baking, but I think she’d hate it if she ran a bakery.

Paycheck, insurance, and a 401k are the reasons I worked for “The Man”.

I play music for fun. The thought of lugging equipment to a bar I wouldn’t frequent, playing for drunks, getting home at 2am, all for the kingsly sum of $50, wasn’t even that enticing as a youngin…

Right. When you used to do something for relaxation, distraction and enjoyment, the shine comes off when you now have bills to pay, payroll to meet, employee problems, rent and such, along with being the last person who gets paid from whatever is left..
