This might be the best comeback story ever in all of sports!

Sha'Carri Richardson's comeback is one of the most dramatic redemption arcs in modern track and field, taking her from a devastating 2021 Olympic ban to becoming the 2023 World Champion and a 2024 Olympic medalist.

Well while this is a niche sport interest, to me this is one of the greatest comebacks of all time.
For anyone who knows ice hockey, this is an amazing feat.

Boston University rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the final minute of regulation to defeat Miami (OH) 4-3 in overtime for the 2009 NCAA Championship. BU scored two goals within the last 60 seconds of the third period, followed by an overtime winner to secure their fifth title.

Unheard of in even regular season games, much less in the season final/championship.
Special team, one of the players on that team went on to win 2 Stanley cups, then return to BU as head coach where he made the NCAA "frozen 4" his first 3 years as coach.

Did not see anything about what the comeback was....

So, doing what I usually do not do... clicked the link... AND... I still do not know what the comeback was as there were pictures but no article...

Oh well... not that interested in gold anyhow...

The guy quit golf back in 2012 to collect millions on an insurance policy based on what he claims was a 'career ending injury'. There was always doubts about the seriousness of the injury and he likely just did it for the money, I guess we all know for certain now. It appears LIV golf may have settled with the insurance company two years ago so he could come back and play.

Dude came out hot on the tour years ago. Was the next big thing. He fell into the trap of life in the fast lane. And he pa pa pa partied and fell off the map! Drug and alcohol abuse. You can see his was big with the nose candy. His nose is collapsed. Not out of the ordinary with cocaine users. Look up a photos of Artie Lange. Artie talks openly about it.

I think AK is 2 years sober now. Glad he snagged the $4.2 million first place purse. He has game. Glad he got hot and won.

Best comeback story in sports...I'm not sure about that. I enjoy golf so it was really exciting though.

Greg LeMond, was the first non-European to win both the cycling world championships and the Tour de France, then he was shot in a hunting accident. He came back from nearly dying in the hunting accident to winning the Tour twice more and the World Championships once more. He ended up retiring due to mysterious illnesses that it turns out were caused by the toxic effects of the lead shot still in his body.

It is sad that we will never know how many Tours and other races he might have won had he not lost the prime of his career. His VO2Max was the highest ever recorded in the early 90's.

I just watched each shot from AKs final round. That was definitely something special. He last won a golf event 16 years ago. He's been a recluse for around 12 years. Alcohol, drugs, depression. Like others are pointing out, this isn't really a sports story, it's a life story. One of the best redemption stories in terms of life. Good stuff.
