This weather is awful - 2024 to ?

It's 55 F right now, sunny, and stunningly beautiful out right now. My dog loved the walk, and the scratch and sniff. It will be in the 30's tonight.

I just spent one week away for a ski trip, then spent the weekend at a convention near Dulles. Friday 2/7 DS and I drove up to Lake Placid. It was snowing when we got there, but the drive was fine. Saturday he spent snowboarding with a friend while I explored the town. I watched skaters skating on the Olympic speed skating rink, checked out the museum, enjoyed a latte. It was sunny and very cold. With three inches of new snow the night before, conditions were perfect. Then we drove to Stowe, VT. It snowed every night, 1-4 inches, but was almost always sunny during the day. I did downhill skiing on Sunday, while it was snowing at the top, but not at the bottom. Took a day off, then went cross country skiing at the Trapp House. Blue skies. Saw deer leaping through the deep snow in the forest. Took another day off (I was sore), then did a day of snowshoeing at the same place. Again, cold and sunny, but the workout and sun kept me toasty warm. Drove home on a sunny, cold dry day. Spent two hours at home then headed to DC area. A storm came through PA while I was in DC, issues. I drove home today when there was a break in the rain.

We could not have asked for better luck in timing this trip, though we would have been flexible with our travel days if needed.

Wow, another powerful cold front headed our way. Unusual for them to reach us this far south in later Feb, but at least we get a couple of warm days first. 89 ahead of the cold front.

Temps will be in the teens (f) here in ~48 hours "again"... At least it will be the upper teens.

It’s so cold that I make toast for breakfast just to get warm hovering over the toaster. But now at 9:30, outside temp has skyrocketed out of negative territory.

Snow and ice is gone, now simple rain and high 40's. I am fine with that.

Well yeah the weather in Texas has been pretty disappointing. But fortunately I'm back in South Florida this week!

Will be 38 degrees Fri morning. Still the high will be 68.

It's supposed to be cold (high teens) and maybe some snow Wednesday into Thursday but all the forecasters are waffling about that so we'll see.

Going to rain here later today and turn cold. My doggie's daycare (playday) was cancelled for today but is on for tomorrow. He doesn't mind the cold and loves to play with the "gang".

-13 F here this morning in southern Wisconsin. An indoor day for the dog, except for doing her business. Tucson looks pretty good from here on a day like today. We have a long to do list getting our house ready to put up for sale next month, so no snowbirding this year.

My planned visit to Tomahawk, WI is not until summer, which usually is the first two weeks in July!

I don't know if Punxsutawney Phil is a good weather indicator, but I can't believe that spring is near when our birds look like this. Around 0 degrees now - may get up to freezing in 4-5 days,

-7 this morning with a high expected of . . . -3 haha. Firing up the sauna again today. It takes about 2-4 hours to reach the right temperature, depending on the ambient temp outside. Using firewood to heat the house and the sauna. Good thing we own a log splitter!

So you can see why this weather can wear you down after a week (or more) of this.

The rainy season has finally arrived and all the leeward hills are green. It's stunningly beautiful and worth the rain.

21 this morning and very light snow. Forecast to get down to 17 tonight. We have had some of the coldest winters we have ever had around here in the past few years.

So cold I went outside and when I came in and tried to use the trackpad on my laptop, it didn't recognize my fingertips. And the cursor stood in place. Put them in front of a space heater and now it's working again!

BRRRR.... -25 a few times this winter for us in MN
