This weather is awful - 2024 to ?

Wow, looks like San Antonio got it bad yesterday with 6+ inches of rain and flooded roads, cars swept off access road into a creek.

We got some heavy rain the past few days. Now it's getting hot and humid (as expected) but not extreme (yet). The bad part is the mosquitoes that are coming. Some years we don't seem to have any but the past two years they have been pretty bad.

That storm was supposed to give us 3-5" of rain here north of Austin in Williamson County. Actual rain was slightly more than 0.5". The drought continues for us. The lack of rainfall needed to start filling up Lake Travis and Lake Buchanan is truly depressing.

70's, sunny, dry and some wind this week. Nice, but also wild fire weather.
There is supposed to be a chance of rain this weekend, which will hopefully help the few wildfires going already.
We had a very dry Spring

Had a couple of days with some good rain, cooler temps (actually record breaking cold temps for those days), closed the house and actually turned the heat back on.
Now we are back to sunny and 70's.

I did, but by accident. Or rather malfunction.

We had storms last Thursday in NJ that knocked our power out for 46 hours. I noticed the next morning after it was restored that my bedroom floor felt warm. Turns out the thermostat for that zone fritzed out and was calling for heat.

AC running and heat at the same time. lol Not the first time it's happened, my wife inevitably forgets to adjust the heating thermo's down when she turns on the AC and yells at me because they are both running making her uncomfortable.

Yesterday's high was 46. At noon today it's 48. Forecast to be 87 next Monday :)

It's hot and very humid here. Maybe not as hot as usual for this time of the year since it's only been in the low to mid 90's most days. No 100+ degree days,,,,, so far. Maybe more rain than usual over the past 6 weeks and lot's of days with heavy cloud cover. If this is summer, I'll take it!

92F 90% humidity SW PA. Yechh.
I find it most unpleasant once it gets past 80F. I prefer cold.
If cold one can always pile on more clothes, when too hot, can oly take off somuch and still be in public. >:D

We've got the same weather in NJ. I prefer it warm over cold but the humidity is unbearable to do anything outside. Just no fun.

Opposite for us for a few days in Jan.

Perhaps that is why they have 3 nudist colonies in the 2 towns over from us. (Land O Lakes).

Amazingly we got several days of showers from Hurricane Erik which hit the southern (Pacific) coast of Mexico. Rain bands extended all the way here. Plus some pretty sunrise skies and even a sunrise rainbow in a cloud.

Only accumulated 0.7 inches, but that’s better than nothing!

Hot in the east yesterday and today. Thank goodness we are on the shore, a bit cooler here but even then I decided not to go striper fishing in the heat. Not too bad on the water but can be brutal at the docks. I'll wait until the heat wave passes.

Well last week I drained the swamp, swamp cooler that is. At 100+ and 3% humidity the evaporative cooler was nicely getting the job done.

Today 83 with 58% humidity the central air is hard at work trying to get the moisture out of the house.

It was 100 degrees this afternoon in Maine. That's the hottest we've seen in 25 years of coming up here.

95° and 50% RH, 108° heat index. Offering up my annual prayer of thanks to the late Willis Carrier, widely credited with inventing a practical air conditioner.

We were in Maine last week. Started off in sweatshirts and jeans and finished the week in shorts and T shirts. It can get hot in Maine. My brother lives in mid coast Maine and we visited in a heat wave a couple of years ago - brutal and no air conditioning....

Pool weather here at 89-degrees.
Two days ago Kissimmee had 4 inches of rain; I am seven miles away and had a mist or none. It's easy to see why meteorology occupies so much of the evening news. There seems to be so much more of the micro climates. Get Greenland and Antarctica melting and we will see some real weather.
Meanwhile, If you're a farmer it's always too hot or too cold or too dry or too wet...no Goldilocks here.
