Time for a new tablet Fidelity app not compatible.

Tons of web sites for comparing/reviewing android tablets.

Don't know why you'd care about opinions from a few people on a FIRE web site.
I will never understand people that don't understand why some folks here ask like to ask others for opinions on products.

I have a Samsung10 in Galaxy TabA 128 gb storage which I like. I never had any problems out of it or the previous ones. I use it to play on while watching TV at night and carry it with me when we go glamping because it is lighter than my laptop for using then and I can jut make a hotspot to ply on internet then. We both have Apple phones because of our daughter, but if we wanted to get back to Android I would definatly go back with a Samgsung.

An iPad is a much better choice. Higher quality screens, components and a better OS that's updated once a year.
But not forever. I had an ipad and after some years it didn't get updates anymore and eventually my bank's app wasn't compatible anymore. I was sad to stop using it, but between kindle fire's and a Chromebook I have what I need.

I've never tried an android tablet, but I do get frustrated with the kindle and Chromebook when they don't let me install what I want. I've sometimes changed settings on the Kindle to be able to install things but that makes me nervous about security.

I'll probably get an android tablet in the future, so this thread is useful for me.

True. Apple stops os support after about 5-6 years just like many other hardware manufacturers, but by then there are so many upgrades it’s worth getting new one.

I used my old Mac laptop for 10 years until virtually nothing w*rked any more. My new computer is nice, but I would have stayed with the old one if I could have kept it running. I don' need the latest thing, but I do need it to be compatible with sites I visit (like Vanguard).

By EU law, all Apple products are supported for 7 years minimum.

Microsoft must abide by the same law.

That's another thing, I can still access Fidelity through the browser, just not app supported now. I will try to absorb the "friction" and see how I feel.

But, Fidelity uses its app for verification. Not the only option for verification (they can text you), but some of their security is a function of their app. Because of that, I like the app more than using a browser. I only use a browser for the things that aren’t in the app. I don’t think things like access to documents and statements is available on the app.

You can set up Aegis or another authentication app with your Fidelity account. So your device doesn't have to run the Fidelity app to get non-email, non-SMS second factor.
