Bought my first TIPS (partial rung of my ladder). Wanted to get a feel for it before totally committing to the process.
How does Vanguard figure the current balance?
In my simple mind Price * Quantity should equal Balance but that's not what I'm seeing. What am I missing?
To get a close balance based on the holding page, (14,000/100)* $101.05 * 1.54947 Bond Factor = $21,920.35. 1 dollar off, my guess its a rounding error and or I'm just doing it wrong.
Lot Details, not sure what I seeing here. 14,000 * $1.57 = $21,980.96, yet the principal amount should be $21,930.96.
Not sure exactly how to put it, but it just seems clunky. I'm thinking I'm missing something fundamental.
