Upgrade home theater?

What can you do with $300 TVs that you can't understand dialog? I don't really desire a home theater - just a TV I can understand in the voice range.

There are quite a few soundbars that claim they clarify the tv dialogue. A brand called Zvox comes to mind. I’ve never tried any other soundbar since buying a Sonos though. I would look through product reviews, and look for those with a good return policy if it’s not good enough for your ears. Make sure the connection for the soundbar is compatible with your TV —hdmi vs digital optical.

The audio is there but the TV's included speakers lack the clarity of a basic sound bar setup.

I recently got my first subwoofer, came with a JBL BAR 500 soundbar. I do not know how I ever lived without a sub. I actually rewatched several movies and TV shows just to experience the full sound.
