No tongue waggle?
Living alone and taking a tumble took pop. Definitely look at some kind of alert system. ...
I got the cheapest Apple Watch I could find ( a series 8 “on sale” at Costco. Since I have an iPhone it fits in quite well. I have the fall notification turned on and it will notify three people if I fall and don’t tell it not to notify them. It will also to send an SOS if need help and can’t get to a phone. Compared to the devices that require a monthly fee it’s a lot cheaper after the initial cost of the watch is amortized. Thanks for all the kind replies. Now I am looking into a "fall notification" device since living alone is not good. The neurologist suggested I get one in case I take a header in the house. My Fitbit does not have this feature and my dog can't use the phone.
I would suggest a neck lanyard for the phone; I do that on vacation. Then you always have it with you. Just choose a thick one so it doesn't cut into your neck.Glad you're back. I had googled your name and saw that you had commented on another site a while after you'd been MIA here so just figured you needed some time away. Take care and sorry to hear you're having both health and family problems at the same time. I have heard that both Android and Apple can miss slow falls. If you have any old unused cell phones you can add them to your WiFi and leave them plugged in around the house. I believe that you can always call 911 on them even with no service.
I have set up the same system with my brother, who lives alone, and has had both adrenal glands removed. He can have an adrenal crisis unexpectedly which can be quite deadly. Last year I had to call an ambulance and thank goodness, it saved his life.It prompted us to set up a check-in text with a widow we know. She, DW and I and another couple are on a group text. The widow sends us all a text when she gets up in the morning. I have a reminder on my phone asking if she checked in today each day at 10am. If we haven't received a text from her that day we follow up with a text to her, a phone call or a visit. Very simple and it works like a charm.
