Most of us have the usual phone – wallet – keys that are with us every day, but what other items do you always want to have with you?

I’ve always been into multitools and have a whole drawer full of different ones, ranging from an expensive Leatherman to a give away from a long ago trade show. What I always have with me is this:

The little flashlight is an LED that recharges by a regular USB “C” cable. My aging eyesight really needs the extra light when I’m trying to focus on a small item or peer into a tight space.

The small pliers have large Philips and flat blade screwdrivers, and can work as a small clamp for holding a work piece in place. It’s great for grabbing small parts and getting a grip on slippery items.

The carabiner holds the light & pliers, and clips on a belt loop. It has a small blade and very small Philips / flat blade screwdriver bit. The blade is a disposable #11 scalpel. Very sharp, and easily replaceable if it gets dull or broken, or if I take it through airport security – just toss the blade & it's a TSA approved item. I can get a replacement blade at my destination.

I find that I use these almost every day, and when I don’t have them is when I need one the most.

What do you EDC?

Carry on my person? No.
But in my car is a full toolbox with just about everything to deal with just about anything. Because I never go anywhere without my car, my tools are never more than 30 seconds away. ( I have two houses 2 miles apart so there's always something needing attention)

Wallot and Keys - oh, and my insurance card with the number to call in case the car conks out.

Wallet, keys, comb. My badge to get into work on those rare days.

Wearing shorts I carry a small multi-tool/foldimg knife. Wearing my jeans I add a Leatherman multi-tool on my belt.

I have a money clip for my green folding and a small Case Texas Toothpick penknife that I always carry. If I wanted to carry more, I have a Colt 1911A1 or a S&W Model 39-2 to choose from. Although, in my experience, it's too much of a pain in the butt to do so.

I have a license to carry in Texas but my Walther P99 9MM Luger stays in the gun safe next to my bed.

I carry on my person a wallet, my keys, my new iPhone, a comb, and an eyeglass cleaner (alcohol wipes). My newest additions to my wallet include special I.D. cards for my stent and pacemaker.

I forgot I almost always carry my phone with me, although I almost never use it. Really on hand for emergencies or to use the GPS.

If DW has her phone, I don't take mine. Going out alone, I do carry mine.

I carry a small pocket knife, my wallet and my phone. Probably a key fob too. Two personal items I always have on me are a tube of chapstick and a small vial of single use eye drops.

I have my license to carry, but never have. I got the license because it made collecting easier.

Phone, wallet, keys, knife (Deejo 37g). I got tired of carrying the heavier knives that I used during my w*rking years. And a couple of lifesaver mints (wrapped). Traveling light.

Swiss Army Knife Classic (small with toothpick, tweezers and scissors), and a traditional pocket knife, usually a medium stockman or smaller pen/jack. Stopped carrying an OTF auto after I lost some weight and didn't like it weighing down my now too-large shorts. Glock 43X for the very rare times I think it might get unpleasant.

Flashlights everywhere, and an OTF auto knife is never more than a few steps away. Door panel pockets of the car are well-equipped. :)

Wallet, keys, phone and hanky. Key chain has small tool with knife blade, flat head screwdriver and bottle opener.

Swiss Army knife and/or leatherman on my belt. Beretta Model 21A in pocket if travel circumstances dictate. Otherwise Sig Sauer P228 on standby duty at night.

Key's, wallet, phone and a 357, various models to pick from.

I feel lost if I can't have my tiny Swiss Army knife in a pocket. Not so much for the blade, but I use the toothpick all the time. A few have been lost to the TSA, so I have to make do with a substitute when I fly. Grrrr!

Actually, they make a model without a blade, and I've carried it occasionally. But TSA agents never believe it until they examine it.

Keys, wallet, hanky, cell phone (since 2015), some coins. I keep my cards and other documents such as DL in a separate holder from the wallet's cash, something which was crucial the two times in my life my wallet (but not the card holder) was lost or stolen. The card holder has two see-through windows when opened up, another handy feature back in my working days when I rode the LIRR every day and only needed to show the crewman my monthly ticket most days. (That card holder has recently fallen apart, so I use a new one with several slots to insert the cards to make them more accessible, and has no windows.)

I don't carry my actual wallet on me very often. Instead I have a small plastic case that holds my ID, credit cards, HI card, AAA card, etc. Then I have my keys, phone, cash(sometimes) and small container for pain meds. I always wear cargo shorts/pants so plenty of room.
