What did you do today 2025

I been collecting them for about 35 years have ~1000. I just can't part with them there is buyer in Neb. that contacts me every year wanting to buy them, but I'm not ready. Lol
So, I do nothing with them but enjoy them. This year I found 24 so far including two today. I average about 3.7 miles of walking to find one horn. Not to good but great exercise and get to explore and be in the outdoors. It is like an easter egg hunt every day.

aja8888, I guess if times get tough, I could make horn soup. Lol
Sounds like your horn collection is your back up savings account! Hope you never have to sell any. Enjoy them.

Heading out later for our monthly meal with siblings and spouses, eight of us all together.
This time it is for dinner at the local Claim Jumper. Portion sizes are always huge there, so if DH and I want the same thing, we will probably split a dinner.

I've seen custom hunting knife makers use horns for the handles. No two are alike...

I'm currently smoking a pork butt, so that we can have pulled pork for dinner.

Went to a fish fry at the church last night and worked for three hours cooking, cleaning and doing tables. This goes on thru Lent. We served 300+ dinners.
Our church has a Friday Fish Fry during lent too. Unfortunately, we don’t eat fried foods. We go out and order crab cakes or salmon on Fridays. 😋

I volunteer for the social aspect and service. I rarely eat fried anything and I ate late at the church. I don't eat the breading on the fish, if I can get it off! I like the Cole slaw with it.

First part of sentence gave an interesting mental image.

Yeah, that would be interesting to see. Thanks
Street, here's my stick and it includes my name and Senior Missile Man Badge from the Air Force.

Flew home from Arizona last Sunday. Went to quick care Monday to have ear wax removed. Started having major cold symptoms Wednesday. Major drainage, tooth aches, eye aches, chills, night sweats, sneezing, coughing, lethargy and sore throat for the past 5 days.

Worst cold I’ve ever had. Probably picked it up on the plane or at quick care. Hopefully it ends soon - not sleeping or eating much. Had a couple donuts this morning to see if that helps.

Oh wow! Take care Ron! Nothing worse than a bad cold to make you feel crappy. Rest up! Donuts can work wonders if they are hot out of the cooker!

Got up before 5:00 am this morning and drove 5 hours to get home to finish up my 12 day road trip. Now, I'm just goofing off some more. I'm debating if I should watch basketball or take the dog for a walk.

Just back from another day of powder skiing at the local resort.

Donut therapy? I'll admit that I've never heard of that one, but it sure sounds worth a try.
Not sure how effective it would be but definitely enjoyable. Take care of yourself, Ronstar!

Thanks! - well so far the donuts, Alleve and NyQuil have lessened the symptoms a little. This should be over in a day or 2. Hopefully we (and local stores) have enough Puffs in stock to get through this.

I'm working in the coolest volunteer project ever. I can't even remember where I first read about it but the National Archives has a Citizen Transcription project where you pull up records from the National Archives and transcribe them. It's made much easier by OCR extracts that you can Cut and Paste to start. I'm working right now on transcribing records for Revolutionary War pensioners and the software does a remarkable job of reading cursive but it still needs polishing up.

No timetable, no deadlines, no commute, if you get bored with whatever section you're working on you can go find another section. I need to start working on the church newsletter today and I'd rather do this!

I have done the same. It is often interesting and, I hope, useful to future researchers.

toothache/eyeache sounds like potential sinus infection, do get checked out if symptoms not improved! My "worst cold ever' turned out to be Covid.
Take care

currently sitting here with pup on my lap, coffee, and here on the forum. Next up is heading to the library when it opens to pick up some books on hold. One is a newly published one I asked them to buy several months ago and it was approved to purchase. I get it first!

Thanks - It could be a sinus infection - I've had tooth and eye aches before during colds, but this is the first one where a little mucous comes out of my eye sockets. I think I'm going to do a Covid check. I found it odd that all employees in Quick care last Monday were wearing masks. I've been to several doctor offices since Covid where nobody was masked. I wonder if they were aware of some Covid issue.

As a consultant, sometimes projects I'm on overlap. This week continues to be one of those perfect storm weeks where deliverables for four different projects collide. Thankfully, I'll have some time to ski on Tuesday and Friday to keep my sanity.

We have simple taxes and I did the free fillable thing tonight. Score!
for the first time in many years we have a refund coming. Normally we send a check, I was good with that. This year with all the spending going down, a little deposit is welcome.
