What did you do today 2025

Cleaned up the winter damage and debris at my Ohio home in the woods...Bonfire is coming soon...too windy today.

GD here for the better part of the day. My and is brother-in-law went to pick up their beef and pork they had processed. A couple hours away in the middle of the sticks. It was a cold day with snow flurries.

What to do with those 10,000 spare nuts and bolts and misc small parts and accessories that haven't been installed or needed that have piled up over the last 30 years or so....that's my big garage issue.
The big green can! I sold a table saw, router table, biscuit cutter, and some others because I retired from making stuff. Still have handyman stuff, like a circular saw and drill. Have tons of nuts and bolts, and a large roll-around full of various tools, most if which have no current function. Downsizing the garage is included in the slow-going downsizing at large.

I loaded all sorts of stuff in the truck to head up to the house job. My brothers came over from Seattle to help out, and we have been playing cutthroat 3 handed pinochle. Still trying to remember the rules and play from long ago days.

Made a run to the dump before the storms came. Bulk pick up is next week but the rain would have made it a mess with the sheetrock and demo stuff. Also finally got rid of the buckets of trim wood that "I'd eventually use one day"... Feeling organized again.

More of a Euchre player. It’s a midwest thing.

Got out yesterday for a 44 mile/4k of hill climbing gravel road workout on my bike. Felt good but that’s only half of what I’ll be facing on the “big boy course” at first race of my 2025 season over in Bend.

Have six weeks left to get body and mind on track!

Went for a hike with the better-half and pups. Did recycling on the way.

Skied fresh powder with the better-half this morning along the continental divide.

Spent the day again at the ranch always can stay busy there. I finished cutting up iron to sell as scrap. I hooked up the well, so it is ready when I put garden in a few weeks from now.

Turkeys were gobbling up a storm so after lunch headed up in the cedars to see if I could call one in. Toms weren't interested and following the hens around and hard to get them to break away.

I also planted some potatoes and took some iron I want to keep and got it on a rack.

It started to rain so I headed out tough to get out of there if it rains too much.

Walked a couple of miles at a local park. Grabbed a few items at the grocery, made a bowl of chicken, black bean, roasted corn, diced tomato, diced onion “dip”, and by dip I mean I will scoop it with a tortilla chip. Posted wisecracks wisdom on the forum…

yesterday I took the brush and blackberries from the apartment property to the dump. I am doing odd jobs, and my brother pruned her trees for some of that hot deal I have for rent. She is not capable of any of it, so it works out OK. I suspect when I get the tractor up there I will be mowing several adjoining yards.
went to the office for a while, got some of my tools from the broken work truck, and worked on some of the logistics for the house.

My plan is to hit the weight machines, first time in three weeks due to shingles. Should be interesting how much strength evaporated, especially since pre-shingles I was adding more weight to push past a stall.

I started back to the YMCA today and met with the personal trainer for a "wellness tour". Last Y membership I had expired in 1980 when I was a competitive long distance runner. Now with two new hips and no upper body strength (plus shrinking muscles), I am going to try to fix some of this. why? Not sure, but it will keep me out of the bars.

Hit the gym, then the bar, for a “sports beverage”. 😉

Mowed the front and back 40..... feet.

I just got thru mowing the lawn in 85 F high humidity heat. I think I am losing my mind. The question comes up after I do this is why am I still in a house?

When I had a lawn, 25 years ago now the yard is xeriscaped, I asked my wife if she could help. She said sure how many bids should I get?

Woke up at 4:30 this morning, so probably an afternoon nap is on the agenda today. But not too late in the day or I won't sleep well tonight!
Other tasks today include accompanying hubby to his medical appt this morning, then local coffee shop after. And probably laundry.
And continue with puppy training. He is in his adolescent time and seems to have forgotten everything! lol. Hard to discipline those innocent puppy dog eyes.
