What did you do today 2025

I had to send pictures of the divot placing a long stick from one side to other and message the divot.
You are very fortunate to get a reply. If I messaged a divot I'm certain it would just ignore me. :)

Seriously, well done. Getting a mattress manufacturer to honor a warranty is a noteworthy accomplishment!

Had a poor day at shuffleboard matches...1 for 3 - not usual. Friday is the dollar day; and the top five pair out the jackpot. I departed early as my total score was...? yuck.
But, after lunch I had over an hour swim in the pool; then the rain comes...we need it. fwiw...we are cooler this week than many places up north..

Some hiking in Montana.

Morning run, watered the plants, varnished my latest piece of woodworking, replaced half bath pedestal sink and faucet, went out for pizza, took a nap and now watching tv.

Ate an apple

Walk dog for the last time.
Watching ball game.

Rinse and repeat tomorrow.

I cleaned my inlaws gutters today. One of their gutters was clogged in the winter. I cleaned them roughly in the winter with the wet leaves enough that they were flowing freely. I finished the job today blowing them out with the leaf blower so there is almost nothing in them. unfortunately the blower ran out of battery before I could finish the gutters on my house :(

Saw a Fleetwood Mac tribute band last night, accompanied by Indianapolis Symphony outdoors. Sweltering start to the evening, but a thundershower blew through, cooled it off, slightly.

The biggest gathering of baby boomers I have seen in a while, maybe 4000.

I mobilized the excavator and dump truck and tools up to the house job, about a 2 and 1/2 hour journey. The truck is not too long on power so I spent some time down around 25 mph on the steep hills. I'm a popular guy!
I mowed down some blackberries with the truck on the far side of the road and drove up. That worked out nicer. I have been backing in the driveway but it's more of a pain in the butt.

My brother kept suggesting riding up with me from Kingston despite the fact that that seat does not have air suspension and will beat on you mercilesly.
I really didn't have the room anyway.

Another day in Montana. Only today was a little disturbing. Some dude, who appeared drunk, had his dog attack our dogs on a trail (we keep ours on a leash, his was not) and tell us to “go back to California”. Which was kind of funny since he was wearing a California T-shirt. Moving onto to the next town. Bozeman didn’t feel right to us and that incident was the crescendo moment. Someone referred to Bozeman as BoAngelus. We really liked Missoula though.

beautiful pic.

Too bad about the dog. I'm coming to the position that every dog I don't know is a threat. I hope your dogs are fine.

They weigh only 15lbs so we were able to pull them away. We follow the leash law rules. Not everyone does.

It's been a day!
Slept in a bit but 12YO puppy and I made it to the farmers market in time for him to get his weekly treat from farmer Alex. Got a whole red snapper and veggies to grill for dinner.
Tackled the backyard chores - pruned the perennials, pulled weeds, got in the fish pond to remove dead material and fertilize the lilies, and cleaned the grill. Phew. Only 94 degrees but still a warm exercise.
After a late lunch decided a nap was in order and was awoken by DS calling to announce that he was engaged to his GF! Everyone is happy!
Grilled the snapper and made side dishes of okra and squash for a yummy dinner. Opened a bottle of bubbly to celebrate the engagement and because a Hugo is my new favorite cocktail. While finishing up the dinner dishes, puppy (who normally spends evenings in the backyard) scratched to come in and when I opened the door - oh no - eau de Pepe le Peu! He hadn't been skunked for about 8 years! Fortunately it was a glancing blow so a quick peroxide bath has made all of us happy again.

It's nice to re-find this website. When I first found it, it was in 2010, asking advice about my then 86 year old dad who wanted an opinion on his financial investments. Now, I am looking at a retirement goal of a few years from now and will be checking out the website more. It's nice to see REWahoo is still active on the boards. You were very helpful back then!
Cheers,
John

Got up way too early, but summoned the energy to go walking with DW. We then picked up lunch provisions at the health food store. Following lunch, she did her monthly BTD at her hair stylist (just unbelievable how much it costs, but people constantly compliment her on her hair and ask who does it), while I napped for an hour. Following dinner, watched new Marika Hargity HBO film on her mother, Jane Mansfield.

I hope you enjoy your time in Montana and always someone or something has to make it undesirable, Right! That is to bad.

I will say the far western part has changed considerably in every degree in the last 20 years.

Beautiful picture!!

We really have enjoyed Montana in general. Bozeman seems like the exception and it is tourist season. Trying to enjoy all the uses of Huckleberry that we have encountered so far. Ice cream being my favorite.

DGS, age 6, spent the night. Woke up at 545am "it's too bright Grandma". I had the window open and drapes cracked to get the cool air during the night . He normally sleeps until after 8. He went with Papa last night to the toy store and is currently spending time with his hot wheels while Grandma wakes up a bit with coffee :giggle:
Today is bright and sunny, sue to get to 85

At 6 Am, walked the dog.
Then coffee with ROMEOS (a few showed up)
Then late breakfast with a friend.
Then home watching golf.

Tonight I have dinner with an old friend and his wife who was my DW's best friend until she passed.

Watched Gulliver's Travels with the "almost 9" DGD yesterday. She enjoyed it. If she stays engaged past the first 15 minutes of a movie, she's into it.
