What did you trade today and why?

Starting buying back PDI today slowly. Of all the Pimcos, it's NAV seems to have held up better than the rest.

Sold my modest position in PHK, replaced with PFN. Sold 6% premium 11.92% to buy 0% premium 12.32%. I can't understand PHK levitating at 6% premium when similars are clearly cheaper.
Regards, Dick
Thanks. I have followed you here.
Sold all of PHK and used 100% of proceeds to buy PFN.
JUst in time for the monthly distribution...I hope

Sold 2/3 of my NVDA I bought after earnings for a slight profit. Will redeploy to more growthy dividend etfs.

A large Bain (BDC) bond matured today in brokerage account...+ NMCO added more shares of this tax free muni CEF. I looked at my 12.5 month holding period, continuously adding to it, my net annualized TR gain is estimated 11% in the DRIP mode.

Did not trade today. Holdings were mostly down1.5-2% at first glance. Shockingly with some snow still on the ground in Connecticut, I went for a walk at the beach - it got up to 60 today. At the close, all in, i was up $7500 today. I try very hard not to sell at the bottom, it has done me great over the past 25+ years. Hopefully, this current environment - well, it too shall pass. Just saying/reminding -- not trading is also a viable decision.
Only 60 degrees? You must be farther up the coast. Balmy 66 degrees in Lower Fairfield County as I tried out my new golf wedge.

Okay....perfect example of age showing up: for "fun" I bought a few hundred USO that sorta tracks crude oil. After VERY suddenly being down a couple grand and frowning, I was just as suddenly up a couple grand....and exited! I cannot believe that I did this all day every day for 25 years....although it WAS with other people's money.

Assuming you buy equal $'s PFN with your PHK, you increased Div by about $30

There were other reasons for me to do this switch.
I like PHK and how it has held up. I was all green in the sale.
I like PCN's chart and have owned in the past.
The premium on PHK was growing a bit too much for me.
Who knows? I may buy it again? if things look right

......how was this computed? $30 per what unit? D
I used the current trading price of each (PFN and PHK), and the current (latest) Div amount.

Using my own holdings, I calculated what keeping them as is would pay me in Div's (~$846), then I calculated what selling all of my PHK, then buying that ($) amount of PFN, would net me in Div's (~$876). Difference was about $30 or I guess a better statement would be ~3.5%

Actually you are right.....I checked my swap prices and I ONLY PICKED UP $22/MO or $264/ yr. But as Marget mentioned, our swaps had more to do with selling a relatively high premium to buy around NAV.....in hopes that future performance will work for us.

I feel guilty here.
Another big reason I sold was that I spent years buying such small lots that the list was just too long--pages!
I've never sold so much at one time and was shocked to see how easy it was.
Then I bought in high lots (for me 5k) that when I look it's not even one page.
----but who sells for such a stupid reason---visual sale:confused: me, the visual of pages of was just too much
but
Dick's post was just too sensible to resist. I felt more stupid not selling. I just never imagined that I could sell 17k shares in a matter of seconds. Yes, I realize that Dick and others sell much higher lots, but I just couldn't visualize it for myself. I know that makes no sense.
but when I looked at the premiums---how to resist?

Hi. I did a lot of consulting work for a couple major oils.....now I don't know if this was or still is correct, but I was told in both places that gas station owners price off the invoice cost of their NEXT delivery. That explains SOME (LOL) of the rapid hikes....but they "cheat" on the way down for sure.

I saw a SHEETZ truck fill the USTs in the low 3s, and that afternoon they were 20 cents higher, so that is where I got my logic.

Thanks dick! That was my thought too when I sold PHK.

No trading today, nibbled on positions in my high yield sleeve (PIMCOs and CLM) yesterday at open and near close. Watched positions rebound a bit today.
