I probably needed an update. I just took an online proxy and got ENTJ. I had always got ISTJ before with fairly weak I and S so not surprised I flipped. The proxy had me at 53% extroverted so just a slight move but I shot all the way to 75% intuitive which is my strongest and the magnitude of that shift surprised me.

Anyone have a link to an online mbti that does not require a login?

Searching "INTJ" on this site comes up with 20 pages of posts with that "word"... I'm pretty sure that's what most of us tested out to be when at w*rk. I'm not very decisive, so don't align with the majority.

ISFP 64% Introverted.

I just took the test (first time). I’ll have to give this some thought. It says I’m an adventurer. I think it got the introvert part correct, but I don’t really see myself as being adventurous. Either way, I’m glad I did not ever do this test while working. People at work tended to get too caught up in the labeling. I’m just an “I am what I am” kind of person so that crap annoyed me.

As for being introverted, I’m not sure the label does my nature justice. While it’s true that I was never driven to do things like conferences while working or anything where I had to engage with strangers, as I look back I admit that overall, I enjoyed myself once I got “forced” into the situation. Though, on a friendship view, I like having a small group of meaningful friendships rather than seeking out new friendships all the time.

At this point in my life (retired, 64 yrs old), I just value the freedom that my work life provided. I like just being and I enjoy my small circle of friends.

I think MB has largely been debunked, certainly for use in the workplace where we mostly all were introduced to it.

I used the test in two different situations. It’s great to use in marriage counseling because it helps to show people how naturally we look at things differently. It can also be used at work and in both situations to reduce conflict and increase understanding of one another.

I also used it in career counseling as your personality type is linked to specific jobs and career areas. It’s not used to limit clients to those options but as more career areas to explore.

Introverts get a bad rap and are misunderstood.

People assume introverts are anti social, which isn't the case, at least not always. Like you mentioned, I can be "on" and take over a room and engage at very high levels, but it's like running a sprint, and I'm mentally exhausted when its over. Extroverts are energy vampires to introverts.

I just took the test linked by Jerry1 above. It says I'm and ISTJ-T. I've read the description and think it's pretty accurate. (20 and 30 years ago I tested as INTJ.)

MBTI is universally regarded by psychologists as a hot, steaming pile of garbage, but for some reason (probably because it appeals to our need to tell ourselves simplified stories about ourselves and others) it remains amazingly popular.

If anyone asks me in person for my type, I hope I have the presence of mind to say RTFM, the Fine Manual in question being any decent introduction to personality psychology.

Warran Buffet is supposably an INTJ so you folks are in good company.

With the 2024 test, I am an ISFJ-T. And in reading the results breakdown, it seems accurate
In the past, at work, I tested as INTJ and ENFJ, I believe.
Weird, think it depends on how I am feeling or what "role" I was employed in, as to how I answered questions each time!

@pacergal, I remember a manager had money to blow at the end of the year and bought the super in-depth version, that came with reports, graphs and lots of write-ups. But the point was that the questions included guidance for answering questions in various situations. So it gave a tilt, depending on if you were in a relaxed environment versus a high stress environment. No wonder people are testing out different when they're chillin' in retirement:)
