Alright, I've got one.

Someone pulled out directly in front of me and almost caused an accident while I was traveling in the main aisle of a large shopping center parking lot.

She was leaving a parking area exclusive to an eye care center. Perhaps if she's unable to see oncoming traffic, she should go ask for a refund. Or not drive with pupils dilated, or whatever she's got going on. Just pulled right out perpendicular to traffic and there was another vehicle approaching from the opposite direction that had to stop for her dumb idiot self too.

Mistakes happen. However, this was last second. I had to slam on my brakes, and when I do that my hands are automatically on the horn.

She flipped me off and appeared to curse at me.

The hell is wrong with people? She's lucky I didn't want to go to jail today.

I generally dislike clothing shopping but the stores certainly don’t make it any more enjoyable.

I went into a department store today to look for a belt. You might think there would be a belt section in the men's department. Nope. That would be too easy. Instead, the store is organized by brand. The Levi's belts were in the Levi's section. The Dockers belts were in the Dockers section. The Haggar belts were in the Haggar section, and so forth. You can't just walk in and peruse the full selection of belts in one spot. I realize they want you to have to run back and forth all over the store to see and compare the options because they want you to spend as much time as possible in the store. I walked out with no belt and found one online that I ordered.

We always hear how department stores and malls are failing. Maybe they should focus on making the shopping experience as convenient as possible, not as difficult as can be. That wouldn't hurt.

Restaurants in my area closing randomly due to lack of staff. Mostly due to being in a stateline area close to Michigan. We wanted to get pizza from a local establishment tonight, but nobody answers when you try to call them on the phone. Then you drive there and the place is dark with the doors locked, even though their hours posted clearly show they are supposed to be open. But looking at the two states minimum-wage laws, you can kind of see why it's difficult to find help there unless they pay their employees twice what they're legally required to.

We've been going through this in our state since COVID.

Easy enough to fix that problem. Stop paying people 2009 wages and maybe you won't have so much trouble getting help.

When I was working at the winery in the tasting room, my base wage was $11/hr, below the state minimum, but I was averaging over $40/hour and on good weekends over $90/hour. Earn your tips and you can make a lot. The base is meaningless unless your not adding value to the experience.

Maybe only being closed on the days when you can't get people to show up to work is the only way some of these businesses can remain afloat.

If the only way you can stay afloat is to pay your employees $6.48/hour less than your nearby competitors, maybe your business plan isn't sustainable.

Some are cheaper, some are more. At one restaurant (which ironically is closed every Monday) a large pizza plus a medium pizza (no fries available) would be about $10 less, but a different place, two pizzas and an order of fries would be priced similar at about $50. A third, more upscale place with a microbrewery and wood-fired pizza would be closer to $70, but that's way too expensive for us for take-out food.

* Personally, I'm happy to get a large $5-$6 (when they're on sale) Lotzza Mozza pepperoni & sausage frozen pizza from the grocery store and make it at home. Those are the best bang-for-the-buck deals for me, but DW doesn't care for them because she claims they have too much cheese, whatever that's supposed to mean. (we live in Wisconsin after all)

They can fix the problem by paying more... there is no requirement to pay minimum wages...

One of the things about Bucees is he pays a high wage to everybody... way higher than minimum.. and he provides insurance and other benefits...

Maintaining these long threads can be challenging, but it’s definitely helpful for keeping site performance stable for mobile users.

I had a couch that was too large to donate.
When I offered it for free, only crank-pods answered. (Can you deliver? I'll pick up for a fee!)
When I offered it for $20.00 it was picked up within the week.

Today's pet peeve is when websites and apps have preference settings but then don't observe the choices you make.

ebay has numerous preferences you can set for things like notifications. Despite turning off certain notifications, I still get them.

Facebook has a setting to not auto-play videos. Despite turning it off on my mom's account, all the videos still start playing automatically. This is especially problematic because then she watches all of that crap because she can't tell the difference between an advertisement and real information, no matter how many times I tell her that if it's on Facebook, it's an advertisement.

facebook marketplace's search function is terrible. It seems to be based on what it thinks I want to see rather than what I actually am searching for. If I'm searching for 1 particular item I'll see all kinds of random things and lots of them are based on what I've searched for in the past.

Bue-ee's does their homework before building one of these mega stores. They have lot's of stuff, all over priced, and an absolutely incredible volume of traffic. (all the time). So they can afford to pay their employees more.

I buy quite a bit on FBMP for resale and occasionally for us. It’s a tremendous resource but also deeply flawed for the reasons noted and more.
