What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

I've been watching a UK series called "Sweetpea" about a milquetoast girl that is pushed too far and becomes a serial killer. Very much a grim dark comedy but I like it based mainly on the talents of the main actress.

It stars Ella Purnell, who most people would probably know as one of the two main characters from the recent Fallout series.

Sweetpea is very good, hope they have a season 2.

Acorn TV: Inspector Ellis

A detective inspector is brought in to solve cases that local departments have not been able to clear on their own. She meets with resistance and push-back due to turf wars, departmental politics, etc.

I really like the main character - she doesn't take $h!t from anyone; she just puts her head down and gets the job done. Played by the brilliant Sharon D. Clarke. Her new sidekick is played by Andrew Gower; it's entertaining to watch their professional relationship slowly develop as they get used to each other's quirks.

My only complaint about the series is that it only has three 90-minute episodes (like so many other British series) but I'm hopeful there will be a second series.

Landman, on Paramount +. New series with Billy Bob Thorton as a field boss for a huge Texas oil company. Although this is a dark drama, he is a riot with his comments to everyone he interacts with including his daughter, ex-wife, his bosses and local law enforcement. This is one of the most compelling new series I’ve watched and I can’t wait for next weeks episode to drop (they only released the first 2 for this weeks premiere).
Check it out and let me know what you think.
The promos got my attention and I’ve been looking forward to it. Isn’t it another Taylor Sheridan show? I just checked and my cable doesn’t have episode 1 available so Im gonna start with E2. So hard to find all these networks.

Mid-way through "A man on the Inside." It's on Netflix and if you are a Ted Danson fan (which I am), you will enjoy. Light comedy, goofy stuff, its great to use for unwinding prior to bedtime.

We're behind the times, so "new series" is relative, but back on page 200 someone mentioned 'Daisy Jones and the Six ' on Prime. We just finished it; 10 episode mini series. Wow that was great! fantastic music and great acting. Story is documentary-style about a band similar to Fleetwood Mac with lots of interpersonal relationships. Actually, I liked the Six's music better than FMac. We need more of that creativity and talent in the streaming world.

I'm a little late too, almost at the end of Season 1 of Silo on Apple+. I like it a lot. Reminds me of the TV show Lost just a tiny bit.

We saw that pop up yesterday and put it on our watch list.

Right now we’re watching Murder Mindfully on Netflix. 8 episodes. We’ve seen 5 and are enjoying it. It’s a German series that is dubbed just so you know. That’s one thing I like about streaming. We’ve found many foreign shows that we never would have seen on traditional TV.

Netflix has brought a huge number of foreign shows to the US markets and there have been so many great ones!

German series Babylon Berlin was outstanding.

PBS also. English-Austrian production Vienna Blood fantastic.

I think both these series are in English even though mostly foreign actors.

Yeah just finished it. Great Ted Danson stuff. You will like the ending.

Just finished the 5 seasons of The Handmaid's Tale. Interesting and Hmmm.

Getting caught up on Yellowstone which is in season 5 so not new at all. I don’t ever recall a tv series with so many specific show inspired ads not to mention all the prequels and spinoffs.

Latest Outlander, still a great story/production. DW loves it enough for (cheap) me to pay for Starz, and I enjoy the shoe too.

Other than Dallas maybe? But the Yellowstone shooter didn't miss.

Just finished Average Joe on Netflix. Main character's dad passes and he had stolen 10 mill from the Russian Mafia. Joe and friends look for the money while the Russians look for them. Quite entertaining and funny. Left it open for season two which is apparently going to happen.

NOVA has been showing a series called Building Stuff that features marvelous ways humans are building things that give us abilities our frail bodies could never equal. Engineers are the heroes of this series.

Finished season 3 of "From", starting to get a little long in the tooth, they like to use the "F" word a lot this season. Started "Murder in a small town" Good wholesome American whodunit without the embellishments. Kinda like "Madame Blanc" & "Brokenwood". The sort of stuff Grandma would approve of.

Last night we watched our first show on Paramount, the first episode of “1883”, the prequel to the prequel of Yellowstone. It’s a good show and we’re looking forward to the rest of the series and the ones that follow.

I had to watch this series intermittently. Felt agoraphobic. But a good series overall.
