What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

I'm rewatching s1 of The Devil's Hour, on Prime.
It's a Brit psychological/supernatural murder drama that is very well done. The lead actress, Jessica Raine, is excellent. Very well acted overall.
Six episodes in s1, and s2 just came out so I needed to refresh my brain on how s1 went.
S1 I'd give 8/10

The Golden Globes opened our eyes. So much to watch from those awards. I did start to watch a couple of Harlan Coben's series. I like thrillers and to be confused until the end.
Funny you mention that. We just finished “Missing You” on Netflix today. I’ve watched several Harlan Coben series. This was the first that we watched together. I enjoy them. Just don’t binge watch several of them because they use the same actors over and over so it’s easy to forget who someone is if you just watched them in a different show.

We're enjoying "The Sticky" and will watch the finale tonight. Margo is great (going back a bit she was the Russian handler in "The Americans"). In E5 Jamie Lee Curtis makes an appearance and is superb. The series is very Fargo-esque IMO.
I do remember her in the Americans now, that was great!

"The Rig" on Amazon Prime. What I thought I would get--a tense, atmospheric, claustrophobic scifi/horror thriller set on an isolated oil rig in the North Sea. What I got instead--a slow moving story full of recycled tropes and stereotypical characters. Watched first two episodes and am just interested enough to give it one more try.

Season 2 of "The Rig" is out on Amazon Prime Video. I did finish S1 and it got better, good enough to get me to watch S2. (Has it really been 2 years? Wow.) I've seen the first two episodes.

This season we DO have a tense, atmospheric, claustrophobic scifi/horror thriller set on an isolated oil rig. Season 2 is so much better than season 1. You really need to watch season 1 to make sense out of season 2.

Each season is 6 episodes of about 55 minutes each. Very bingeable.

I suppose I would give S1 a 6.5 out of 10; so far I'm giving S2 an 8 out of 10.

Anatomy of Lies, about the former writer for Grey's Anatomy, Elisabeth Finch. I never knew about this incredible backstory and enjoyed this quick 3 episode series on Peacock.

Not new: “The Greeks” by National Geographic and PBS. Three episodes covering Ancient (Bronze Age) Greece, Classical Greece, and Hellenistic Greece. It’s fantastic and very educational. Really helps puts a lot of well known places and people into a solid timeline. This series inspired the Nat Geo land tour “Greece: Wonders of an Ancient Empire” which we’re going on this year.

Should be able to watch it via Disney+. I watched it free online.

The Spy on Netflix

It is okay. I was not familiar with the main character. It is based on a true story of Eli Cohen. He was a mossad agent in Syria during the early 1960's.

I'm a few episodes into "The Recruit" on Netflix and am enjoying it. It's about a rookie CIA agent, and some of the situations he gets into seem unrealistic, but still a fun watch so far.

Black Doves on Netflix

Really well done limited series on Netflix. My DW and I are really into limited series.

Prime's "Troppo" is a modern noir set in the wilds of Queensland, Australia. Disgraced ex-cop and oddball P.I. team up to solve a couple of suspicious deaths. Also starring crocodiles and snakes! The Aussie accents benefit from closed captions turned on.

Hell on Wheels series on Netflix building the railroad across the USA in 1800. Some blood and guts but probably a lot of truth how it was built. I enjoyed this show and Longmire, Absentia.

Night Agent season 2 on Netflix

Not as good as season 1. We find Rose very annoying. The writing is mediocre.

The Recruit Season 1 & 2, watchable.
Wolf Hall (DW Likes it).
Troppo (Per a recommendation here, I liked it).
Unforgotten Season 6 (Always liked it).
Van de Vauk Season 5
Tulsa King (But of Course)
Tracker Season 2
The Rig Season 2
Return to Paradise AU Season 1

Watched 1883, loved it, watching 1923 right now, also like it a lot...this is making me think I should watch the Yellowstone series? That is network tv though right? Not usually as good as Showtime...

Also watching Dexter original sin (excellent...young Deb gets old Deb perfect), Severance season 2 (weird but very good), Dark Matter (I read the book, just discovered there was a series a couple days ago, and it is pretty good).

I tried watching the Rig but gave up on season 1...if season 2 is better maybe I could muddle through the last 2 episodes of season 1...it just seemed subpar compared to the above shows.

I have this habit of researching series I never watched when they came out but are highly, highly rated. That led me to....wait for it..."Prison Break".

Started watching it a while back and was thinking, wow they all have flip phones. Thought it was a period piece till I realized it began in 2005!

But all that aside, great show. Probably eases into my top 5 all time. At least through 2 seasons.

Just started Cassandra on Netflix last night. It's a German science fiction thriller about a family that moves into the oldest smart home in Germany that includes an AI robot.
It's well done and I think we'll enjoy it, even with captions.

I found an English dubbed version in the InterWebbles, should be fun to watch.

I came here to mention this show. I binge watched it over 2 evenings and really enjoyed it.
Subtitles don’t bother me if the show is good enough.

Wrong side of the Tracks on Netflix. Watching season 4 now. Like it overall.

The new Neflix series Zero Day. Watched the 1st 2 episodes last night. The US has been hit with a cyber attack that shuts down everything. So far, it seems watchable.

I'm late to the 3 Body Problem party, but one episode in, and I'm liking it better than the book.

I heard about the book in a podcast (just mentioned in passing). Had no idea there was a show. Got the paper book from the library. The premise is great, but I thought the writing was a C minus. The way the characters acted and interacted could have been done so much better. And too preachy about historical culture. Get on with the scifi already!

Only one episode in, but already I see that the screen writers actually know how to tell a story, as opposed to the original author.

I really enjoyed the 3 body problem tv series (the new one) but I am stuck on the 2nd book. I got a bit farther than the ant crawling around on the gravestone then switched to another book. I know if I stick with it it will be worth it, but just too sleepy a read atm.
