What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

Just to mention what others already have - if you like Dept Q then Slow Horses really needs your attention. Gary Oldman as the lead rocking greasy straggly hair, slovenly clothes, an absolute lack of social graces, nightmare boss in the positive reinforcement area... Sounds bad, but it is great

the books they are based on are very good also.

New Season of “Somebody Feed Phil” the travelogue show starring Phil Rosenthal just dropped on Netflix. First two episodes were Amsterdam and Basque Country. Besides amazing food spots, they offer great travel tips for these unique places to visit.

We watched the 4 episode series Adolescence on Netflix. Good acting but too depressing, we wish we could have that time back…

love this show. I don't know why but I am always hungry after watching it. I also enjoy when he talks to his parents at the end. Unfortunately I believe one of them passed away.

I thought this was an amazing series. doesn't give you the answers at the end. makes you think about the role of parents, school, society. also loved how they shot the entire episode in one take. makes you feel like you are there instead of just watching it.

On the flip side, we are were watching Waterfront on Netflix. Getting pretty good reviews. As DW and I say to high quality shows that we just can't watch, "It's not for us".
Don't like the people and can't identify with the people since they are criminals, liars and generally unlikable. It's a "Yellowstone/Dallas" type soap opera which we never got into. If that's your vibe though...

reminds me of Bloodline which i actually liked. i think the acting was a bit better in Bloodline too.

I started Dept Q yesterday. I like it so far.

Old show but my daughter introduced me to White Collar the other day. We watched the pilot together and I can definitely see why she likes it so much.

yes, his dad passed away since the last season of the show. He has a new thing that he does at the end of each episode. He does a FaceTime (or zoom) call with a famous celebrity friend and asks them to tell a joke at the end of the conversation. These jokes are hilarious. I just watched the Boston episode last night and Jane Fonda was his zoom call friend who told a couple of hilarious of jokes. Always a fun "light" show to watch.

White Collar is great! I love the tenuous relationship between the two main characters as they each slowly must come to trust one another. Lots of great plots.

Another show from the same era that is excellent is Burn Notice.

Alias Grace on Netflix

It is a short limited series. It is holding our interest and is enjoyable. We have not quite figured out which way it will go. It is not predictable so far. It is well done.

"Blindspot" on Netflix. A woman is dumped in Times Square, her memory totally gone and she's freshly covered with mysterious tattoos. Some of the police and FBI stuff is a bit ridiculous, but I am enjoying the series so far. Hard to imagine how they'll keep this story going for 5 seasons though.

I liked Bloodline better. I do like the Topher Grace character in The Waterfront, but as someone else mentioned, most of the characters in The Waterfront are unlikable.

Is Waterfront worth watching?
I still have half of the last episode to watch, but unless it has some killer ending, I'd pass unless you're out of ideas for something to watch. It was rated the #1 show on Netflix currently which is why I took a chance on it. I think the writing and acting are subpar.

Thank you. I was only considering it because it was #1. When I watched the trailer, the acting seemed stiff.

Is Waterfront worth watching?
We're visiting family who have Netflix and I decided to see what might be worth watching. Maybe it's me but what seems popular doesn't appeal to me one bit. Finally saw Waterfront at #1 and thought I'd try it and see. After all, I loved Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Better Call Saul, Dexter, and Ozark even though I felt the latter sagged toward the end. As for Waterfront, I barely made it through the first episode. Cardboard, unlikeable characters, predictable plot, and really no originality. I suggest passing on Waterfront. Also, I'm not sorry we don't have Netflix. I may resubscribe to Paramount + to binge on the Dexter prequel and upcoming sequel number 2.

it's a cheesy Ozark...check out Bloodline. much better IMO and similar concept.

Have you watched The Diplomat? You might like that. It starts off really good and then after a few episodes it seems like it’s going to be same basic plot different day type of show but it picks right back up. Season 2 was even better than Season 1 IMHO. It’s on Netflix.
