What to do if IRS did not take your money?

I have mostly investment income and some things not paid or reported until after Dec 31, even some not available until late Jan.

I try to avoid refunds. If there is a hopefully small refund I apply it to the following year estimated taxes which start to be due the same time anyway.

I do a pretty good job of estimating income, even from the investments. My K-1's don't show up until MID MARCH and they are always a surprise, but I use the previous year's data and add a few percent.I don't care one way or the other if I owe more or get a refund. I have never had a penalty assessed for my guesses! (y)

I just have to say WOW!!!

Got a call from my sister and she said she looked at her PAPER bank statement and the money was taken out in early April... REALLY?

Asked how she could not have seen that online... but she pointed out that she went to the bank and the people there also could not see it...

Does IRS withdrawals from you bank account become invisible?

As said on TV..

"Nevermind"...

I've had similar (invisible transactions) happen. My conclusion is bank staff too often don't know how to look up electronic xfers.
