What was your happiest moment today?

When I realized, doh, I hadn't cashed my tax refund checks yet. Thousands I forgot I had. :) Hello bank tomorrow.

Sunny, cool morning, hot coffee, puppy snoozing at my feet, healthy, happy, blessed.
It is going to be a good day.

My very frail, stage 4 cancer-ridden wife went out to lunch with friends last week and came down with Covid a few days later (again). It was pretty bad for a while, but she woke up this morning feeling much, much better. Lots to be grateful for today.
I'm happy to hear that she is feeling better.

ohhh I would never tempt the karma gods that way... 😉
I'm so happy each day when I realize I do not believe in karma. Grace is so much better than karma IMHO.:) If I got what I deserved - I don't even want to think about it - though YMMV.

Last week I got a Costco mailer with a promotion on Procter and Gamble products; buy $100 worth and get a $25 gift card or buy $200 worth and get a $50 gift card. My church supports two local ministries: one serves single mothers, providing workshops on parenting, healing from trauma, personal finances, job skills, etc. The other helps the homeless. I bought $200 with of stuff and e-mailed the people who deliver stuff to those charities and brought everything to church today. The woman from the Single Mom ministry thanked me profusely- they have a free store and had had to reduce the maximum number of items the women could get because their supplies were down. She was thrilled that they could replenish their shelves.

Next time I won't wait for a P&G promotion. $200 can go a log way at Costco.

I guess you could call this "Double Rewards." Not only do you get the great feeling of helping those in need but you get a gift card as well.

Thanks for sharing (with others - and with us.)

Went figure skating first time, sice April. Ice rink open, skating muscles atrophied. They are very different from dancing muscles. But, great pleasure reminding them of what they are supposed to do and waking them up.
And.... A Pea Coat I bought on fleabay was at may doorstep when arrived home. Fits too!

Sitting here on the forum with puppy in my lap, enjoying the sunshine.
Tomorrow will be picking up DGS, age 9 for the afternoon while dad works, then Saturday will be going to his cross country meet and later in the day we all go to DD house for DGS, age 5, late birthday celebration.
Gonna be a good few days :)

Accepted a job offer from my old boss who is light years better than my current bad boss and for more money. I'm well aware of the careful what you ask for deal, I don't know how this will work out, but at least for the moment this is a very good moment. If this can even not just suck and last a few years it should carry me to retirement.

Congratulations, @motley! That's fantastic news about the new job. It's great to hear you're moving to a better work. The pay increase is definitely a bonus.

I woke up happy today after receiving notification from my bank for the receipt of my monthly pay for my current job.

Woke up this morning and realized nothing was on the calendar or planned for DH or I.
Most days in retirement are pretty easy, but lately we have had something going on or comes up during the day, almost every day, that changes our plans.
What happened to the blank calendar of retirement?--lol.

But the interruptions lately have been happy one--time spent with DGS.

I saw we had just three cans at the curb for green pickup. So I filled up two more cans with twigs and small branches.

This morning I ran on my local bike path. Nothing unusual about that. But there's a short offshoot of the path, that is not paved, that later reconnects. On spur of the moment decided to run it, and almost tripped FIVE times on tree roots. That I didn't fall and hurt myself made for very happy moments.

DD and DGS age 5 coming over later today to spend some time and help eat leftovers.
Love having them so close, makes for a happy Grandma. :)

Connected with a lovely couple on Home Exchange and looks like we will be able to arrange a week or two in the Cotswold UK next year. Should be a wonderful experience! We did a walking tour there once and it is was a highly enjoyable experience and great exercise. This made me very happy!
