*Direct Deposit*When I realized, doh, I hadn't cashed my tax refund checks yet. Thousands I forgot I had. Hello bank tomorrow.
I'm happy to hear that she is feeling better. My very frail, stage 4 cancer-ridden wife went out to lunch with friends last week and came down with Covid a few days later (again). It was pretty bad for a while, but she woke up this morning feeling much, much better. Lots to be grateful for today.
I'm so happy each day when I realize I do not believe in karma. Grace is so much better than karma IMHO. If I got what I deserved - I don't even want to think about it - though YMMV.ohhh I would never tempt the karma gods that way...
I DID submit that way, but (shock of shocks) the govt effed up and sent me checks anyway.*Direct Deposit*
Should I say it? Nah. You know what I'm thinking.I DID submit that way, but (shock of shocks) the govt effed up and sent me checks anyway.
I guess you could call this "Double Rewards." Not only do you get the great feeling of helping those in need but you get a gift card as well.Last week I got a Costco mailer with a promotion on Procter and Gamble products; buy $100 worth and get a $25 gift card or buy $200 worth and get a $50 gift card. My church supports two local ministries: one serves single mothers, providing workshops on parenting, healing from trauma, personal finances, job skills, etc. The other helps the homeless. I bought $200 with of stuff and e-mailed the people who deliver stuff to those charities and brought everything to church today. The woman from the Single Mom ministry thanked me profusely- they have a free store and had had to reduce the maximum number of items the women could get because their supplies were down. She was thrilled that they could replenish their shelves.
Next time I won't wait for a P&G promotion. $200 can go a log way at Costco.
No doubt about it!That is always the happiest moment of the day!
YepShould I say it? Nah. You know what I'm thinking.
Congratulations, @motley! That's fantastic news about the new job. It's great to hear you're moving to a better work. The pay increase is definitely a bonus.Accepted a job offer from my old boss who is light years better than my current bad boss and for more money. I'm well aware of the careful what you ask for deal, I don't know how this will work out, but at least for the moment this is a very good moment. If this can even not just suck and last a few years it should carry me to retirement.
