why don't I stay logged in

I am lazy about closing tabs in the browser but when I return (later) I have been logged out. No other site I visit does this. What gives?

When you log in, make sure to click the box next to the words "Remember me?"

Doesn't seem to help. Has timed out in maybe an hour or two away with same window open. Will try again.

Check your browser and security settings. If you have ticked the remember me box and this is still happening, chances are high that your system is clearing cookies. We use those to keep you logged in...
