Wow! Photocopying has gotten expensive $$$

I'm stuck on the need for 20 copies.

Self service 540 pages? No thanks. That's a long time standing at Staples.

I didn't mind that part at all. I put the document in the feeder, set the number of copies, 2-sided, and where to staple, and hit start. Then I did some stuff on my phone until it was ready.

I use mailing labels for my wine bottles unless the bottles are a gift. Th 1"x 2.625" labels are perfect for me to put the bottling date, vintage, variety, and some orher info, they are placed on the neck and perfect to read when in the 600 bottle wine racks. Staples used to be my preferred brand for years, but they would "unstick" themselves a day or two in a rack or wine box. I went with Uline and they used to be about $12/box of 3000, free shipping if you made a quota. Now they're $26/box and almost the same amount to ship. Yes, printing is expensive!

Our local county libraries offer printing and copying for, B/W for $0.10 a sheet, color $0.50 and copying. Digital faxing is free. For the little I use such services (mostly printing), it works out great. A lot better than using my printer once and having the toner dried out the next time I go to use it.

A thumb drive clearly would not do in that case. A published book would maybe, but it's money under the bridge.

This is a custom collection that I've put together over the years from a variety of sources. It's not just a copy of an existing book.

Something you've selected and not a subset of a specific book...gotcha. The cost is almost a benefit, then, as you're gifting something you've crafted.

No. You're charged per copy, even if the output is double-sided. 27 pages is 27 pages whether it's actually 27 sheets or 14 sheets.

At Christmas I send out about 30 hand-written letters with a page of pictures from the past year. I have them printed at the library, which is a little cheaper. My library charges double per page if you have two-sided copies. I think the toner is the big expense.

This is what I do, except my county is .15. So, .27 isn’t unreasonable at Staples.

Plus the printer there collates and staples automatically. I have no idea if the library one does that. And when the machine encountered an error at one point, there was an employee right there to take care of it and back out the charge for a copy that didn't get done right.
