Xiaomi’s first EV revealed in China.

The first phone company to come out with an EV.....beats Apple! (We can't count Foxconn even though they own the old Lordstown plant!

Smartphone maker Xiaomi applied for a sales license for their first EV in China – the Xiaomi SU7 sedan. It revealed some car specifications, and the EV will be contract-manufactured by Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co. Ltd (BAIC). The EV was previously known under the codename MS11.

It will be interesting to see how the Chinese government handles this. I have seen in the past that they prevented a commercial vehicle company from building passenger vehicles and forced that company to merge with another business already producing passenger cars, SAIC.
