Our retirement road-trip-mobile:Well the new year is soon upon us so time to look back over the past 12 months to ask ourselves what was our favorite purchase in 2024?
So what was your best purchase for 2024?
My biggest purchase was my first brand new car since 2002- but my favorite purchase was an embroidery quilt kit!Well the new year is soon upon us so time to look back over the past 12 months to ask ourselves what was our favorite purchase in 2024? This year I had a couple which were finalists but in 2023 we took in an emergency foster dog and adopted her officially in 2024, She has been an unexpected joy during a most challenging year!
Here she is:

(Runner up purchase was a BTD private car service from Naples to Rome. My wife did not want the ordeal with the train due to some potential health/mobility challenges so we splurged on a private car. The real treat was that day we took the trip the taxi's in Naples all went on strike, so it was extra crazy traffic that day (IYKYK). We were so glad to have lucked out with an easy escape that day! Saw a lot of tourists lugging bags onto public busses and looking very stressed...not us!
So what was your best purchase for 2024?

That's awesome! My DW inherited her father's '77 MGB a few years back. It runs and drives most of the time. My job is to get it running reliably enough to teach her to drive it.A little fun car for my wife after she retired in August. A Figaro.
Ron, sorry to misinform you, but that was our percent of the total cost shared across 5 couples. Can you share the name of the boat? We've done this often (just spent a week in the BVI's in Dec 2024) and $12K sounds like 2013 prices. Cheers, Ron
A beauty! Looked at them, but that cost three of my VStrom!BMW R1250GSA
Don’t you have to have a prescription for a mobility device (DME) before Part B will pay? I can’t see getting a prescription for an ebike. It would be nice though!FYI, Medicare Part B covers the partial cost or even the rental fee of a power mobility device. This includes mobilized scooters.
I always liked the lines of the MGB. But these days, I no longer like carburetor's. Give me electronic fuel injection and a turbo charger....or a super charger. That's awesome!
