Found icicles hanging from outside faucet.

It is the type with long stem for shutting off flow inside, instead of on the outside of the wall.
Luckily remembered having a 1/2" shark bite shutoff valve in my plumbing stuff drawer.
Sut off main valve., drain lines. Removed ceiling panel, cut plastic pipe, install shutoff valve, leave in off position. Replace ceiling panel.
In the spring will remove wall valve, figure out what is wrong then fix. No hurry now.
Next trip to hardware store will buy another shutoff valve, as well as coupling and a block off for the plumbing pile.

Replaced the rubber piece of my windshield wiper without buying a new windshield wiper. Wasn't easy but saved ~$15
I can relate! I replaced only the rubber part on my rear wiper. Replacing the entire blade including rubber would have been an ordeal due to home-mechanic-unfriendly design. Luckily I had a spare wiper blade assembly from which to harvest just the rubber part.

Serviced our ski bindings and replaced some worn out parts. The better-half helped from start to finish, which was great since she now has a better understanding of how they actually work.

She's fairly adept as a bike mechanic, so working on winter equipment means she can help year-round. Plus, being able to service your own ski equipment is a huge cost savings: Waxing, tuning, p-tex base repair, and other adjustments need to be done every week or two when skiing regularly.

I replaced my wood stove’s gaskets before the cold snap we’re in. No more leaks, she’s nice and happy!
