Forced ER - not ready emotionally!

I used to envy those living in Spain due to your siestas, but no longer! It sounds like we have some advantages in the U.S., for early retirement.

There may be some misunderstanding on my part re this thing of ER. If I´ve got it right all of you who ER can do it ´cause you´ve been saving up for that goal all along previous many years, in one way or another, save those cases, like some civil servants that, after, say 20 years, some public federal, state, county etc coughs up full or Quasi full pension.
If my interpretation is correct, we, too, if we save/invest/insure for ER, can quit working too.
When I talk about ER, I mean public/state/ federal/council etc PAID FOR ER financed by direct or indirect taxes. In these cases is where ER is not possible, except for the instances I mentioned.
