Hello.
I joined this forum several years ago, but have not been all that active in it. Over four years ago, after nearly 30 years of working in Africa as a development economist and lay preacher, my family & I returned to the US.
So, I started my early retirement at age 58, which was my goal then. But, having married later than the average guy, my youngest of 4 will be 21 when I am in my early 70s.
I do not miss the daily commutes to the office on developing world city roads (although there are parts of the US where there is little difference); nor the 8 am arrival at the office. I remain engaged however with some part-time jobs and online teaching, all of which I enjoy and with a lot less stress. I appreciate the freedom to make my own schedule, within reason.
