Maybe we have to wait. From what I can find the further point west relative to the International Date Line is the Midway Islands. While it is 9:14 pm ET right now in Midway it is 3:14 pm on 12/21/2012. So maybe there is still time for doom and gloom?

OK, so I woke up today and it still seems there's a world out there (is that what that is?), which means I have another opportunity to completely sidetrack this thread - but since I started it, that makes me the Absolute Ruler and I can do whatever I want to

I really don't know where to post this, but this seems like the logical thread 'cause it has a little history.

Now that I'm free of work, there's more time to take walks, hang with neighbors, and so on. It's finally nicer here in the midwest, so it's a perfect time to get some air and sun and chat. I stopped my yard work one day this week to sit and talk with a very nice senior lady neighbor. We talked, among other things, about some flowers I've put in a planter in my yard this year.

The next day, I left to do some errands but on my way out I noticed there was a big new flower I hadn't put there! It's great, and I'm christening it my "Happy Flower".
