Another Microsoft Scam?

[Disappointed]

I mistyped Macrumors.com as Mcrumors.com and I think the website flashes a page which looks like an official Microsoft page, then the audio starts playing "Please call ........ you have a virus on your computer" or something to that effect. I just went ahead and closed the page.

I am assuming that this is like one of those Microsoft calls that I also received? Anybody has this happened?

You did the right thing closing the browser window. It is typical spam scam.
