I am a collector of contradictory paired proverbs. As the final proverb in a book of proverbs given to me long ago by my mother said, "Proverbs contradict each other. That is the wisdom of mankind."

So I'm going to try setting up a poll for some of my favorites. I'm not giving that weaselly third option, "They're BOTH right" because I'm not asking for an eternal truth, just the approach you normally opt for.

**Besides, this little exercise of mine has led me to an eternal truth that I am uncomfortable with: the sum of human wisdom may be found in two word - It depends ...

If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice

I think I've been luckier making a bold decision. The times I waited to probably cost me more. And I'm not just talking about money.

Love this. Being comfortable with the gray, with contradictions. A part of the key to happiness IMO.

How about "what goes around comes around"
I like this one. There's no time limit, nothing specific stated. I think of it as justice.

"Never put off tomorrow what you can do today" (you can "never" be sure what tomorrow might bring)

And of course, for this forum, "Buy low and sell high".

The double meaning saying, "live well below your means."

Good things come in small packages

...and, this quote from Seeking alpha about rising falling markets.
