Good thought, but a *traditional* haiku is 5-7-5 based on the Japanese tradition. I tend to be a traditionalist.

Heh -- actually yours is as correct from the 17 syllable standpoint. I had never heard of the claim that in English, the number of syllables on a line don't matter...

Or maybe we should just use Mr. Garrison's definition from South Park: A haiku is just like an English poem, except it doesn't rhyme and it's totally stupid.
