To further complicate matters, some men with ED (i.e., impotent), for various reasons (I'm diabetic) find that none of the oral drugs work any more. The up-side (no pun intended) is a 3-5 hour erection, similar to the ones a man remembers when he was 18. Plus no more worries about 'performance anxiety,' as it just doesn't come down, no matter what you do. If you have to get it down, take a double or triple dose of a decongestant (such as Sudafed), and wait about a hour. As a result, DW requires 2-3 'rest periods' between 'activity sessions.'

It just depends on how much you want to continue having sex fun. In my case, at 64, I just wasn't ready to pack it in ... and, besides, I wanted to continue chasing DW around the house ... until she catches, trips, and beats me to the floor.

not to cast doubt (well, maybe for fun just a little) in any straight mind nor to flaunt, oh, i don't know, sexual confidence? but the topic of erectile dysfunction, performance anxiety and spiking one's penis has never, um, come up in any conversation i've every had with my many gay friends.

oh wait, that's not true. i had two friends who loved each other very much but both of them were bottoms. so in order to please each other, they did pop viagra. as for the rest of us doing what actually and naturally turns us on, unaided performance doesn't seem a problem.

so what i'm curious about is do you question your own nature before you pop that pill?

I'm coming late to this discussion but to answer the question why not Viagra or what ever other ED product is out there. I am in my fifties, DH is in his sixties and we are not dead yet. We love each other, we are willing, have the house to ourselves, have plenty of time, we are over 21, married so as far as I'm concerned that means no restrictions.

For every woman I talked to who was happy the old boy was slowing down I have talked to women who miss the intimacy they had with their husband. We are living a lot longer so if things slowdown or stop when a man is in his sixties that is a long, long celibate life to expect to have to live. Could be what, 20 or thirty years. What a drag.

DH and I did not want to live out our mature years like that. We got educated about ED and we as a couple took action to address the changes going on with both of us and I am glad we did. We hope to be a scandal well into our nineties.
