Free Cell Phone Calls From Home

LAS VEGAS - The company behind the magicJack, the cheap Internet phone gadget that's been heavily promoted on TV, has made a new version of the device that allows free calls from cell phones in the home, in a fashion that's sure to draw protest from cellular carriers.

I think signals with your home are OK. It would be signal boosters that would be offside. Dan says it will appeal to people who have older unused GSM phones. Anyone with an iPhone already uses WiFi and Skype.

Seems like this just another Skype-type phone over broadband internet thing. Since I can't get a broadband connection at home unless I get a cell aircard, it won't do anything for me. They are simply using the cell phone as a radio connection to the internet. It really isn't the same thing as getting free cell calls. You aren't using the same network or the same comms path.
