Kinda reminds me of this.....

Well, whether you believe it or not, there was a toilet paper shortage in the United States in 1973. The entire episode started with a Johnny Carson Tonight Show monologue.

The Toilet Paper Shortage of 1973.

The janitor in my tiny school (K - 12) was an interesting guy. He was really nice. He was friends with all the kids and most of the parents. He had no kids but still went to the PTA and school board meetings. Homer had a sign in his mop closet that read:

Today's Stock Market Report
Scott tissue touched a new bottom today. Thousands were wiped clean. Our advice is to hold onto your water and sit tight on your American Can.

As a youngster, I found it hilariously amusing - once I figured it out.
