I tried posting in another thread on this topic but it was too old apparently.

Looking into Life Alert for my mother at my sister's request. Kind of leery about it, some red flags: 1 - telemarketed 2 - aimed at elderly 3 - plays on fear 4 - long contract with high expenses.

Seems like a marketing scheme disguised as a home health service. Reviews on the net very mixed. Those for whom it worked when needed happy, others really steamed, say it's a rip.

I can see the appeal of the concept. Like to find a decent product with good service at a reasonable price (asking too much?) May look into something called Rescue Alert some more. Had good comparisons with other products, but don't know how objective the data is.

My Mother has one that's tied into Caregiver's America . She has been real happy with the service . We also use one of their home health aides and I'm very pleased . Here is a link Care Givers America
