- The Perseid meteor shower will peak on the night of Aug. 12 and 13 with as many as one or two meteors a minute falling from the sky. Meteors are bits of rock, even down to the size of a grain of dust or sand, that burn up when they enter the Earth's atmosphere, creating a streak of light. The Perseids is an annual shower that happens when the Earth moves through a trail of debris left by the Comet Swift-Tuttle.

- The Perseids will be an all-night show, but the best viewing time will be after midnight to sunrise on Monday, according to NASA. To best watch the meteors, people should get away from the city lights to the darker rural skies. Look in the eastern sky during this time.

- The shower is called Perseids because the meteors appear to come from the constellation Perseus, which will be in the eastern sky on the morning of Aug. 13.

I watched a few last night where I live, it was amazing, cannot wait for tonight. Would love to be in Hawaii for these hehe.
