The Thin Blue Line

I have an ex-girlfriend from there. Interesting little town, nice Mardi Gras parade though.

There are plenty of towns, especially in the South, where certain types of businesses can't be open on Sundays. And not just bars and liquor stores, but new car dealers, etc. The car dealers love it--as long as nobody can sell a car on Sunday, they suffer no competitive disadvantage and they can save on some types of overhead (electricity, pay for the receptionists, etc) by 14%. And, the entire staff gets to be home with their family for one day on the weekend. These businesses fight very hard to keep these laws in place.
