I'm pretty sure it will be the White Sox, but interested in your opinions.

Re: Which Team Do You Want To Win The World Series?

I'm a Red Soxs fan all the way but I'll actually be happy with anyone winning as long as it's not NY :)

Re: Which Team Do You Want To Win The World Series?

Actually i'd like to see the yankees take another three game lead and then lose the next four.

Preferably to the red sox.

Just like last year.

Outtahere and (),

Nobody wants the Yankees to win, I'm kind of thinking their era is over.
Even though you are a Red Sox fan, you probably wouldn't mind the Red Sox stepping aside and letting a team that hasn't won a World Series since 1917, and not even made an appearance since 1959, win right? It would make an old ER who's heart was broken :'( in 59, a happy man

Re: Which Team Do You Want To Win The World Series?

Dan I don't mind the White Soxs winning.. I just wish it would go another game or two...if it ends tonight I'll have nothing to do until spring.

Ottahere - Yes. I prefer they play all the games... all of them extra innings
That was a fantastic sox-yankees series last year. I want to see some more of that kind of baseball this year, no matter who wins ( well except yankees and atlanta)

If the Yankees do they won't be playin the Red Sox.

Yep, it's a sad day in Beantown but there's always next year...unless Theo trades away the team like he did this year.

Go White Soxs!!

Nobody? "come on"

Re: Which Team Do You Want To Win The World Series?

I'm sorry Red Sox fans. I rooted for them last year after the Twins checked out. I'll miss seeing David Ortiz, but won't miss Manny.
I invite you to cheer on the other Sox this year. :)

Ooops, sorry I should have said there's probably somebody in NY.... :)

Re: Which Team Do You Want To Win The World Series?

I reset the poll to give our friends in Boston a chance to revote.

Re: Which Team Do You Want To Win The World Series?

I voted for St. Louis, but that's only because of Tony LaRussa. I could live with Houston, and the White Sox in that order. All of this is said with sadness; alas the Red Sox lost today. No pitching, what else is new?

Re: Which Team Do You Want To Win The World Series? Poll has been reset

There wasn't a choice for my pick: anyone but St. Louis (I'm stuck on the construction team building the new ballpark for the St. Louis Cardinals, and the sooner they go down in flames end the season, the sooner they can tear it down and start building the rest of the ballpark...and we've been reminded time and time again that "it will be done by opening day...come hell or bankruptcy high water".

Coincidentally, this project has been a sort of capstone for my construction career: it's the ultimate lesson in taking bs from the general contractor, putting up with my brother and brother-in-law, and dealing with the union plumbers...and it has opened my eyes to the fact that I want nothing to do with it long-term, which is why I'm finally completing my application to business school in January (was going for Fall 2005, but postponed it a semester).

Ahh I didn't see the Cubs by 2050 (...still waiting) so I guess I will vote for the southsiders

I'm holding out hope that the cubbies will win in my lifetime, if not I hope my kids or grandkids get to see it. Been since 1908.
The Da curse of the billygoat. http://www.dacurse.com/ I wished they hadn't put lights in at Wrigley, that's probably another curse.
The white sox and the cubs - the longest without....

Peter - you really got a plate full. Good luck! It doesn't look good for the Padres, but things can change, look what happened to the Bosox last year...

Re: Which Team Will Win The World Series? Poll has been reset

Ex-Jarhead - Cool! I like Kyle, he's been struggling of late, but I think he's got alot of potential - a 20 win kinda of guy.. He had a blowup with Gardenhire, but got patched up, so I hope they don't trade him. I do hope they trade Radke & Mays. Twins have a really great farm system, that's how they're able to compete, lot of good ones coming on board now. Sorry to see David go - was really important also in the clubhouse. I wished we could have kept AJ, but had to make way for Maurer. The payroll has been creeping up - the owner is a billionaire - but frugal like us - the way he got that way, He's about 90 - hope he sells to the Timberwolves owner - another billionaire that doesn't mind spending money to make money.
Yeah I was damn dissapointed too, had the family there game 4 to see the damn yankees against Santana - our bullpen gave them 4 runs in the eighth to tie and then gave them the win in the 11th. :'(

Re: The World Series Winner

White Sox are going to have their hands full with the Angels.
Sox are well rested, the Angels are going be tired and running on adrenaline..should be interesting

Re: There's Always Baseball

But sometimes it's the adrenaline that get's the best results. I just have to thank the A's for pushing the Yanks back where they belong :) It was such a nice thing to wake up to this morning. As for my beloved Red Soxs... there's always next year.

Yeah, lots of ingredients in the mix that make a team a winner.
To bad about the Yankees....nah!...next year, Twins!, if not Sox(White or Red).

Re: There's Always Baseball

My vote is for the White Sox.  This coming from an avid Red Sox fan who traveled this summer to see the Red Sox play the Cubs in Chicago, the Devil Rays in St. Pete., and the Orioles in Baltimore.

I thought Camden Yards had the best park although my 9 year old son still loved Fenway the most.  I guess he'll be one of those fans who would never want to see Fenway replaced :'(.

Anyone have any votes for there favorite park that we need to visit?

Based on the parks I've been to and ranked in order of ambience:

1. Wrigley
Fenway
2. PacBell (Giants)
3. Coors Field
4. Milwaukee
5. Oakland
6. Fort Myers-Twins 8)
7. White Sox (had to pay $10 for someone to "watch" my car)
8. Detroit (same as above except it was $20, area seemed like out of Robocop)
9. MetroDome (Twins) - Don't travel out of your way for this. See it if you want to know how bad it can be - it is interesting though when the ball hits the ceiling or the other team can't see the ball :D

Re: There's Always Baseball

Go Go White Sox!!
American League Champions!!
Thank you Ozzie and you too AJ!
Don't get too crazy in the streets, Chicago!
