1.7% SS COLA in forecast tables/tools...

Just an FYI for anybody that uses the SS Retirement Estimator:

the tables have been changed to reflect the 1.7% SS COLA increase.

This is always done on December 1 (assuming there is a COLA ) for payments starting January 1st...

I just checked mine this morning and I see no difference in the estimated amount. I had previously checked about a month ago. Perhaps the updates were done on November 1?

I just checked mine, and it is up 1.7% from its value in January, 2012. So, it sounds like you're correct.

I update the forecast the first of each month, to pick up the couple of $$$ increase.

I always see more than the normal monthly jump from the Nov 1 to the Dec 1 report, so it could have been done anytime during the November timeframe - probably when the official increase is announced.

Anyway, you don't have to wait until January 1st to see your new estimate (if any COLA), assuming you have not yet applied for SS.
