Bear Bond Market Definition

Why is it essential to determine that one is in a bond bear market? Is your investing strategy going to change?

Not essential. I just wish to understand if there is a widely accepted definition. When Bill Gross or Ray Dalio say we are in a bond bear market, can I determine that by myself based on specific amounts of yield increases, amount of time, of what duration, Treasury or total market etc. Just consider this curiosity, and no, I am not planning to make any changes based on this.

I don't think of these two individuals as mere talking heads, even if one of the two does like to talk. Or maybe both like publicity, I don't know.

I do understand now that there is not a standard widely agreed upon definition like there is for the stock market.
