I assume the don't use modern medicine (no cat scans, no antibiotics, etc)
In other words if I was Amish, I would have died a long time ago. I think I'll
happily continue paying SS, thx.

Actually they do use modern medicine. Because they self insure the community they probably measure the cost against likely cure.

Becoming a preacher Gain Social Security Exemption is a easier way to go. But that is not my main reason to become a preacher.
