Why didn't they offer 7-8% CD's to all us retirees? Everyone would be a winner.....and the money would have stayed here.

they didnt offer it to anyone else because its not going to be paid back. at some point in a few years it will convert to stock. heck i would have taken a shot at that deal too

Because they needed equity to bring up their tier 1 ratio, not more deposits.

i was thinking offering convertable stock not cd's to investors. thats almost the deal they ended up getting anyway .
