Does anyone have any experience using everbank, an online bank? I'm considering getting some CDs there that are denominated in foreign currencies as a hedge against the deflation of the dollar. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with an internet only bank.

I've been considering doing the same. They're FDIC insured and have been around for a while, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I've had perfectly good luck with ING direct. Reviews of everbank seem favorable.

Check these out:

I did notice that all the favorable review pointers on the everbank web site are all from 2001 and previous...so either the good reviews stopped or they dont bother updating their own marketing.

Does ING offer foreign denominated CDs? Everbank is the only one I know of.

I dont believe they do.

My comment was mostly in regards to your discomfort with internet only banks.

In my limited experience, they're no better or worse than B&M ones. Same caveats.
