Been admiring Vanguard's Health Care Fund Investor Shares (VGHCX), but it's been closed to new investors since 5/05.  19.51% net annual returns since inception (5/84), 16.74% last ten years, 18.83% over the last year.

We just installed a new 401(k) plan with MetLife, and one fund option is Blackrock Funds Health Sciences Portfolio (all funds in the plan are NAV ... no BS fees buried).  19.49% net annual returns since inception (12/99), 12.24% last five years (ten NA), 16.83% over the last year.  Compares very favorably to VGHCX in comparison charts.

Anyone familiar with Blackrock, or this fund in particular? Anyone in the Vanguard fund?  While I recognize the potential challenge with nationalized health care, this sector has been a winner for a long time, and demographics and the progress of technology would still seem to make it fertile ground.

Thanks.

Note that there's also Vanguard Health Care Vipers--VHT, an exchange traded fund that more or less tracks VGHCX.

Thanks, astromeria ... appreciate that option.
