Hedge fund-like mutual fund: SWHEX

I got a mailer from Schwab last night about a long-short hedged equity fund they are pushing now. Shortish track record and ugly expense ratio, but they have generated a pretty nice return without anything like full market volatility. Interesting...

With an ER like that it's the down market volatility I'd be worried about. And I bet they don't want to discuss 2001-2002!

Gosh, it's been a couple years since Schwab's invited me to one of their high-pressure sales pitches investor seminar dinners...

Oh, I'm not likely to run out there and dump $100k into their fund, I just thought it was an interesting example of how rip-offs for rich dummies hedge funds are being brought down to the masses.
