I went into my profile to update and found I was subscribed to 70 or so threads. Not intentionally, either.

Do others have subscriptions to threads that they are not aware of also? And does it really matter?

I just looked and I'm subcribed to 129 threads, so i'd be interested in knowing what overheads it puts on the website.

You are automatically subscribed to a thread when you contribute to it. I haven't seen a way to turn it off.

Use the Quick Links dropdown menu above and select Edit Options. Look for the Default Thread Subscription Mode and under the dropdown menu, select Do Not Subscribe. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes.
