Paper Savings Bonds -- Treasury Direct

I own a few paper savings bonds. For a couple of years now Treasury Direct has said that these can be transferred to electronic bonds on their site, but only after being notified in the mail that my turn is ready. I've been waiting for some time, with no sign of an invitation. Is anyone else still waiting? Is there any reason to want the paper bonds?

You need to contact Treasury Direct and request an "invite to convert your paper bonds"

Email works for your request.

This happened to me, too. I felt like an idiot waiting for my 'invitation'! I e-mailed customer service and within a few minutes had my invite.

Why don't they just use another term like "On request.."?
