I fired Quicken last fall when they did some sort of changeover and my data was corrupted. I could have restored from backup but it was more fun to build my own using Excel. Used Quicken for 25 years. I do not miss it.
My DIY spreadsheet allows me to project future balances as far in advance as I want monthly annually or whatever. I cut and paste transactions downloaded from my bank and reconcile. I set my own categories and can run pivot tables and charts to my heart's content.
